GRAB APPLES®, Fresh-cut apple slices, test marketed in Winchester Public Schools
Shenandoah University Pharmacy School students, Stephen Creasy, Jessica Dearwater, Lindsey Demers, and Keli Ishman test marketed Virginia grown GRAB APPLES® as part of their course requirements this semester.
Students at Quarles Elementary School were observed during lunch on March 9, March 12, and April 10. The purpose of the study was to introduce a healthy alternative to the whole apple generally offered as part of the children’s lunch.
The students were offered GRAB APPLES®, pre-sliced, ready-to-eat, Virginia grown apples in trendy packaging. The product was well received and earned high marks from the students polled.
The Pharmacy School students will be presenting the findings of their study as well as providing copies of their full report to the Winchester School Board at 6pm on April 23, 2007 at Daniel Morgan Middle School in Winchester, Virginia.
